With a playoff win on the line, Sun Valley Magnet rose to the challenge on Thursday. They really took it to the New Designs Watts Knights for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-32 win. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Martavius Watson and Magic Haynes certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Watson went 6-for-12 to rack up 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Haynes posted eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. Haynes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played.
Sun Valley Magnet has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. New Designs Watts' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
