The Lincolnton Wolves and the Stuart W. Cramer Storm will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Lincolnton's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Stuart W. Cramer has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
In Friday's Canine Competition, Lincolnton didn't have enough. They fell 83-76 to Burns on Friday. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 22-10 in the first quarter.
Despite the loss, Lincolnton got top-tier performance from Josiah Guyton, who dropped a double-double with 38 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 50% of the Wolves' points, marking the third time in a row Guyton has posted more than a third of the team's points. Tucker Robinette was another key player, putting up 15 points.
Meanwhile, Stuart W. Cramer was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past West Lincoln 76-46. The matchup marked the Storm's most dominant win of the season so far.
Lincolnton better keep an eye on Gavin Jordan. He was instrumental in Stuart W. Cramer's win, going 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points along with five assists and five steals. With that strong performance, Jordan is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Dye, who shot 50% from the field en route to 17 points and three steals.
Lincolnton now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Stuart W. Cramer, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lincolnton has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Stuart W. Cramer struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
