The Ridge Community Bolts will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the East Ridge Knights at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Ridge Community was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-41 to Fort Meade. Ridge Community has not had much luck with Fort Meade recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was A. Benoit, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of T. Bodison, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, East Ridge ended up a good deal behind South Lake on Thursday and lost 49-33.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Amber Sommer, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Neishaliz De Jesus, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Ridge Community's record now sits at 3-7. East Ridge's record is now 5-7.
Ridge Community came up short against East Ridge when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 47-35. Can Ridge Community avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
