The St. Paul Lutheran Giants's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Grandview at home by a decisive 47-33 margin. If St. Paul Lutheran hoped to take revenge for the 38-34 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
St. Paul Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mia Sherrill, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Sherrill has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Pippa Detring, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
St. Paul Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Grandview, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Paul Lutheran won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Arcadia Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Grandview, they will head out on the road to face off against Bourbon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Bourbon is ranked 434th, while Grandview is ranked 413th).
