The Pyramid Lake Lakers will look to defend their home court against the Mineral County Serpents at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Pyramid Lake's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
Pyramid Lake fought the good fight in their overtime match against Smith Valley on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 73-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Pyramid Lake's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rylen Patrick, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 23 points and three steals, and Myron Rivers, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance also gave Rivers a new career-high in assists (four). Cash Hall was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Even though they lost, Pyramid Lake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Mineral County had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 63-50 victory over Excel Christian on Tuesday.
Pyramid Lake better keep an eye on Robert Wilson. He was instrumental in Mineral County's win, earning 31 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Peyton Baldry, who had 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Mineral County's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-9. As for Pyramid Lake, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Pyramid Lake has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 34.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Mineral County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
