The Dunn Earwigs will challenge the Cate Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Dunn sitting on five straight wins and Cate on seven.
While Dunn's victory against Santa Clara wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Earwigs skirted past the Saints 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Earwigs have posted against the Saints since May 19, 2021.

Hudson Von Der Lieth was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Dunn: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Theodore Anderson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Cate hadn't done well against Bishop Diego recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Rams never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.
The team relied heavily on Chase Meyer, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.
Cate pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Dunn, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dunn has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .471. However, it's not like Cate struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dunn might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Cate in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Earwigs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
