The Portledge Panthers pushed their score all the way to 59 on Sunday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Anthony. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Portledge in their matchups with St. Anthony's: they've now lost three in a row.
St. Anthony's found their leader in underclassman Kevin Moore, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Mannix, who scored 17 points.
Portledge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for St. Anthony's, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Portledge and Long Island Lutheran will face off on February 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for St. Anthony's, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. John the Baptist at 7:30 p.m.
