If The Powdersville Patriots were riding high off their 33-7 takedown of the Palmetto Mustangs last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Powdersville took a hard 52-34 fall against Chester on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (33), Powdersville still had to take the loss.
Elijah Coleman went supernova for Chester, rushing for 314 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 68 receiving yards. Trooper Floyd was another key contributor, throwing for 175 yards and two touchdowns.
Powdersville now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Chester, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Powdersville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chester will face off against Chapman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chapman knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Chester likes a good challenge.
