Basketball Recap: Clovis West Comes Up Short

Clovis West suffered their biggest defeat since December 18, 2024 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 96-67 loss at the hands of the St. Joseph Knights. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the loss, Clovis West still got an impressive performance from Dj Stickman, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Stickman a new career-high in points. Jace Kellogg was another key player, going 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and seven assists.

Tounde Yessoufou was his usual excellent self, going 12 of 20 on his way to 30 points along with six assists and six boards for St. Joseph. Yessoufou is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julius Price, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Clovis West's record is now 7-11. As for St. Joseph, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

When Clovis West and St. Joseph next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Clovis West will try to stop Central's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Clovis West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.2 points per game this season. Similarly, St. Joseph will try to stop San Luis Obispo's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
