The Centerville Miners put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 43-6 victory over Power/Dutton-Brady. Considering Centerville has won eight games by more than 32 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Luke Kelley, who rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 77 yards and a touchdown. Kelley is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last nine games he's played. Caden Olson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Centerville's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 9-1 Harlowton/Ryegate/Judith Gap and 5-3 Roy/Winifred (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.6% over those games). As for Power/Dutton-Brady, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Centerville will be playing in front of their home fans against West Yellowstone at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Yellowstone is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. Power/Dutton-Brady does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
