Gladstone extended the longest winning streak in Montview this week by beating Duarte, 34-18. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Gladiators.
La Puente moved up to 543 from 630 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warriors climbed the ranks as a result of besting Bassett 43-13.
Jose Ledesma and Cameron Blackburn gave Azusa a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Ledesma threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns, while Blackburn ran for 219 yards. Teammate Angel Maldonado added to the ground attack by rushing for 19 yards.
Michael Mora was the best wideout in the league this week as Sierra Vista defeated Ganesha. Mora tallied three receptions for 66 yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Ledesma of the Aztecs is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1151. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, the Dons' Lee Jones has rushed for 1344 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jamal Greenfield. The Bassett star has 35 catches for 594 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Azusa takes on Gladstone. Joe Scherf's team is in fifth place, while Albert Sanchez's team is in first place.
Sierra Vista took down the Giants 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jones ran for 198 yards in the win.
