Even though The Granby Comets have not done well against the Norcom Greyhounds recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, Granby made off with a 13-12 win over Norcom. For Granby, this counts as revenge for the 40-0 loss Norcom walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2022.
Christian Post threw for 169 yards and a touchdown. Eamon Cuffee was his top target, picking up 75 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Drevyon Tharrington rushed for 68 yards.
Granby's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Norcom, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Granby will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Manor at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Manor is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Norcom, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Lake Taylor is ranked 100th, while Norcom is ranked 99th).
