West Bladen has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will square off against the Hoggard Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though West Bladen has not done well against East Bladen recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Everything went West Bladen's way against East Bladen as West Bladen made off with a 63-40 win.
West Bladen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Williams out in front who scored 30 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least 25% of West Bladen's points. Jackson Pait was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Meanwhile, Hoggard took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They breezed by Purnell Swett at home to the tune of 66-26. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-16.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 2-0 season records intact.
West Bladen came up short against Hoggard in their previous meeting back in November of 2018, falling 60-52. Thankfully for West Bladen, Trey Clucas (who scored 23 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
