The Spanish Fort Toros pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-59 bruising from Bryant. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Spanish Fort of the 64-39 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Madi-Marie Grayson was her usual excellent self, scoring 43 points along with eight rebounds for Bryant. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Grayson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mari-Margret Grayson, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Spanish Fort's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Bryant, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
Spanish Fort will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Robertsdale will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Bryant, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alabama (Saraland is ranked 139th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 125th).
