Madison is 9-1 against Lincoln since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Abes at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Lincoln will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Madison extended their winning streak to five on Thursday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over South Lake. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Landon Wargo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Wargo was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Madison got a massive performance out of Malachi Allen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Allen is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Shawn Dennis was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Madison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .639 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln). Everything went their way against Eastpointe on Thursday as they made off with a 23-10 win.
Jonathan Holt was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with seven stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Hummel, who went 2-for-3 with seven stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Madison pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
Madison took their win against Lincoln when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 24-10 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Abes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
