The Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds entered their tilt with the Flint River Academy Wildcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Notre Dame Academy came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 39-27 on Thursday.
Notre Dame Academy was led to victory by Marta Losada and Cara Amadi. Losada scored 11 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, while Amadi dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Losada has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Faustina Barcena, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and two steals.
Despite the defeat, Flint River Academy saw an underclassman step up: Reagan Riner scored six points along with seven rebounds and six blocks. Brooklyn Waldrep was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Notre Dame Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Flint River Academy, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Notre Dame Academy will head out on the road to face off against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Furtah Prep is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Flint River Academy will take on the at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. LaGrange Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in Georgia (the are ranked 161st, while the Wildcats are ranked 535th).
