Imperial Valley recap November 19, 2013
Southwest scaled the state rankings by moving to 738 from 799 this week, the biggest jump in Imperial Valley. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of beating Montgomery 10-7.
Calexico lost to Hoover 61-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Palo Verde Valley's Logan Whiting and Damian Ramirez led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Whiting has thrown for 1,040 yards this season, while Ramirez has 59 catches for 1,331 yards. Royce Freeman from Imperial leads the league in rushing with 2,426 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Central takes on Southwest. As it stands, the Spartans are in third, while Joe Conner's team is in fifth.
The Eagles and the Aztecs played the closest game in Imperial Valley this week, with the Eagles eventually emerging with a 10-7 victory.
