Basketball Recap: Foundation Academy Takes a Loss

Foundation Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took an 81-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of the King's Ridge Christian Tigers on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (64), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, Foundation Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alex Nichols posted 23 points and five assists. The game was Nichols' third in a row with at least ten points. Riley Michels was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Alex Lowry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for King's Ridge Christian, dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Lowry is now averaging an impressive 16.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.

Foundation Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for King's Ridge Christian, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Foundation Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-56 win against South Lake on the 7th. As for King's Ridge Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-74 defeat against The First Academy on the 3rd.
