Piedmont has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Parkwood Wolf Pack at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Piedmont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Piedmont scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Central Academy 68-22 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Piedmont has managed all season.
Emily Polk continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Landry Smith, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Parkwood had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They really took it to Monroe for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-22 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Parkwood has posted yet this season.
Piedmont's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Parkwood, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Piedmont came up short against Parkwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 61-52. Can Piedmont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
