Potosi hasn't had much luck against Highland recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chieftains will face off against the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Potosi earned a 3-1 victory over Benton. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Zephyrs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
The final score came out to 25-16, 18-25, 25-18, 25-23.
Potosi can attribute much of their success to Grace Eastlick, who had 21 digs and one assist, and Lexi Harris, who had 14 digs.
Meanwhile, Highland sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over River Ridge on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted against the Timberwolves since September 23, 2021.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Highland who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 23-25, 25-15, 22-25, 23-21.
Highland's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Potosi, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Potosi came up short against Highland when the teams last played back in September, falling 2-0. Can the Chieftains avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
