Trinity is 1-7 against Belle Vernon since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hillers will venture away from home to square off against the Leopards at 7:00 p.m. Trinity knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Belle Vernon likes a good challenge.
Trinity's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Laurel Highlands to the tune of 48-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hillers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Mustangs are ranked 421st).

Owen Gardner
| 10/17/25 @ Laurel Highlands | 121 |
| 10/10/25 vs Chartiers Valley | 222 |
| 10/03/25 vs Thomas Jefferson | 122 |
| 09/26/25 @ Ringgold | 114 |
Owen Gardner was his usual excellent self, rushing for 121 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, while also catching one touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 114 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Jonah Williamson, who threw for 142 yards and three TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trinity was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 171 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Belle Vernon on Friday. They beat Ringgold by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 48-6. The win continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won nine in a row.
Trinity better focus on containing Chace Petrosky and Curtis Wade as the pair were huge in Belle Vernon's win. Petrosky rushed for 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, while Wade rushed for 87 yards and two scores on only 12 carries. Petrosky also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Belle Vernon is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise.
Belle Vernon picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Trinity, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Trinity has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 224.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Belle Vernon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 190.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Trinity was able to grind out a solid win over Belle Vernon when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 31-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hillers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
