If the Christopher Bearcats were feeling good off their 85-38 takedown of the Eldorado Eagles last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Christopher fell 66-54 to Vienna on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Christopher in their matchups with Vienna: they've now lost four in a row.
Vienna was led to victory by Hunter Webb and Owen Treat. Webb scored 18 points along with five rebounds, while Treat dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten assists. Treat hasn't dropped below 15 points for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayton Nichols, who scored seven points along with three blocks.
Christopher's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Vienna, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
Christopher will be playing at home against Steeleville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Steeleville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Vienna, they will head out on the road to take on Sesser-Valier at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sesser-Valier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 564th, while Vienna is ranked 170th).
