Providence Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 52-40 to Concord Christian. Providence Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Providence Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kinley Painter, who scored 12 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Aerin Hicks was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Providence Academy's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Concord Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Academy has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on January 29th. King's Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the like a good challenge. As for Concord Christian, they and the will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Apostolic Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
