The Texas City Stingarees won the last time they faced the Santa Fe Indians, and things went their way on Friday too. Texas City walked away with a 55-46 win over Santa Fe.
Santa Fe's loss came despite strong showings from Kenny Torres and Ryland Chambless. Torres almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds, while Chambless scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Jewell, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Santa Fe struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are 1-3 when they can't control their own glass like that.
Texas City's win bumped their record up to 13-19. As for Santa Fe, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-20.
Texas City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Fe, they will head out on the road to take on Manvel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Fe is coming into the contest with six straight losses on the road, meaning Manvel will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
