Pueblo County has won six straight games at home, while Lewis-Palmer has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Pueblo County Hornets will host the Lewis-Palmer Rangers at 1:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Pueblo County 1.2, Lewis-Palmer 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Pueblo County's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Palisade by a score of 5-0.

Cohen Glenn and Cole Barger made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Glenn pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Barger tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Glenn posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Glenn scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Barger went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Glenn is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, Julian Reyes was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Pat Noga, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Pueblo County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palisade only posted a batting average of .208.
Meanwhile, Lewis-Palmer gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Fountain-Fort Carson. That four run margin sets a new team best for the Rangers this season.
JW Babbitt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joey Davis, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Hunter Morgan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Lewis-Palmer's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Pueblo County, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pueblo County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lewis-Palmer struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Pueblo County took their victory against Lewis-Palmer in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Does Pueblo County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lewis-Palmer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
