It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Key West Conchs can now relate to. They were the victim of a tough 55-35 loss at the hands of the Raiders on Monday. The defeat means Key West is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulliver Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mikayla Brown, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Brown continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Allison Podvin was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Key West's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Gulliver Prep, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.
Key West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gulliver Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Sabres at 3:00 p.m. on February 8th. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jaden Castro and Brown.
