Pleasant Valley has gone 9-1 against Pocono Mountain West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Pocono Mountain West will be up against a hot Pleasant Valley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Bears came out on top against Wilson Area by a score of 13-10 on Monday.
Rylee Green made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Green was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Pleasant Valley let Rylan Knapp and Lila Borger run wild. Knapp went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Borger went 2-for-5 with four RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma George, who went 1-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Pleasant Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Pocono Mountain West never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against Notre Dame as they made off with a 15-0 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Julia MacPhee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). MacPhee was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, Pocono Mountain West got a massive performance out of Angelina Sauerwein, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Ana Yuter was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Pocono Mountain West's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Pleasant Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pleasant Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .375. However, it's not like Pocono Mountain West struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
