Meanwhile, Dunsmuir had to endure a 15-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Surprise Valley on Friday and snuck past 57-54. The victory was just what Dunsmuir needed coming off of a 69-34 defeat in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Michael Kellar, who scored 35 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Dunsmuir's points. Another player making a difference was Desean Pistorius, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 24 rebounds.
Butte Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Dunsmuir, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-17.
Everything came up roses for Butte Valley against the Tigers when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 67-37 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Kellar, who scored 37 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
