New Dimensions pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to Haines City. New Dimensions has not had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several New Dimensions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeriel Martinez, who scored 26 points. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ace Gorsline, who scored 15 points.
Ixion Toro had a dynamite game for Haines City, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Toro has scored all season. Jorge Ramirez was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five assists and two steals.
New Dimensions' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Haines City, their victory bumped their record up to 6-16.
New Dimensions will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. As for Haines City, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Titans at 8:00 p.m. on January 31st.
