Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westfall). They blew past the Chillicothe Cavaliers 14-4 on Saturday. The Mustangs not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23rd (when they won 10-0).
Noah Stonerock looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Westfall is 6-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Westfall got a massive performance out of Nate Wolfe, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave Wolfe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cory Green, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Westfall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Westfall's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Chillicothe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
