The Columbia Central Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Spring Hill Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spring Hill took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Columbia Central, who comes in off a win.
Columbia Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Summertown on Friday as they made off with a 20-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Gabe Leonard was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Columbia Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Spring Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 13-2 to Glenbard East.
Spring Hill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Christie, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Columbia Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Spring Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
Columbia Central skirted past Spring Hill 1-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
