After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Lansing Christian brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They came out on top against the FAITH HomeSchool Falcons on Thursday by a score of 12-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The result was nothing new for the Pilgrims, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Ethan Damesworth made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lansing Christian is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8 otherwise. Damesworth was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Trevor Orton was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Lansing Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Leavitt, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.
With the victory, Lansing Christian broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-9. As for FAITH HomeSchool, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
