The Baker Gators will head out to  face off against the Milton Panthers  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Baker proved they can win big  last Thursday (they won by ten) and  on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Central  8-7.

 Abigail Griffin and  Emily Whiddon made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing,  Griffin   tossed five innings while giving up just one earned  (and six unearned) runs off   six  hits. Meanwhile,  Whiddon   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in four consecutive appearances. At the plate,  Griffin  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, while  Whiddon  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most  RBI  Griffin has posted since back in February.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Abby Norman, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in February.
Meanwhile, Milton gave up the first  runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-2  victory over Crestview.
 Like Baker, Milton also got a great game from a two-way player:  Chloe Norman. She  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Norman was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 The  win  got Milton back to even at 9-9. As for Baker, their record is now 8-5.
 Baker suffered a grim  12-1 defeat to Milton  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024. Can the Gators avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
