The Mitchell County Eagles had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with an 80-69 win over Terrell County on Tuesday. Given Mitchell County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Greenwave are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Loss or not, Terrell County got some senior leadership from Shaheed Huckaby and Keavonte Anderson. Huckaby scored 30 points, while Anderson. scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Huckaby has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Michael Carter, who scored six points.
Mitchell County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-5. As for Terrell County, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Mitchell County will head out on the road to challenge the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Terrell County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Randolph-Clay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday.
