The Ridgway/Johnsonburg will head out on the road to face off against the Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
After soaring to 31 points the game before, Ridgway/Johnsonburg were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were beaten by Brockway 51-7. Ridgway/Johnsonburg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last match, Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley made sure to put some points up on the board against Smethport on Friday. Everything went Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley's way against Smethport as Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley made off with a 51-26 victory. Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley pushed the score to 43-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Smethport cut but never quite recovered from.
Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Aidan Fox, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Brody Dittman, who threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes. Fox's longest reception was for an incredible 79 yards. Owen Bish also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley's victory bumped their season record to 4-4 while Ridgway/Johnsonburg's loss dropped theirs to 2-6.
Ridgway/Johnsonburg came up short against Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 26-19. Can Ridgway/Johnsonburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
