Baseball Game Preview: Abbeville Panthers vs. Whitmire Wolverines

For the second straight game, Abbeville will face off against Whitmire. The Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Abbeville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

While Abbeville's victory against Whitmire wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Wolverines on Monday. Adam Beiler made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Overholt, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Lohen Nickles was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
