Basketball Recap: Elijah Kindle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northwood Temple Academy over Freedom Christian Academy

If Northwood Temple Academy was riding high fresh off their 85-52 takedown of The O'Neal School last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Northwood Temple Academy Eagles took a 94-90 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (85), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elijah Kindle, who went 13 for 23 on his way to 37 points. Kindle has been hot, having posted 17 or more points the last eight times he's played. Kenny Vera was another key player, going 9 of 18 en route to 26 points.

Freedom Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karsten Swinney, who posted 26 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce West, who earned 25 points and five boards.

Northwood Temple Academy moved to 16-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Freedom Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Northwood Temple Academy has already played their next contest, a 101-65 win against Village Christian Academy on the 16th. As for Freedom Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 88-78 defeat against Fayetteville Academy on the 16th.
