The Meridian Warriors will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully Meridian is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sunrise Mountain in their respective states (Meridian is ranked seventh in Idaho, while Sunrise Mountain is ranked 85th in Arizona).
Meridian managed to keep up with Owyhee until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Meridian was the victim of a rough 73-52 loss at the hands of Owyhee.
Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Peoria 78-53. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-21.
Sunrise Mountain found their leader in underclassman Marcus Murray, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jason Higgins, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Meridian's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3. As for Sunrise Mountain, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
