The Neshoba Central Rockets waltzed into their matchup on Friday with 17 straight wins but they left with 18. They had just enough and edged Callaway out 53-50. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Neshoba Central has scored all season.
Neshoba Central was led to victory by Kyli Truss and Katelin Williams. Truss scored 12 points, while Williams scored 13 points.
Neshoba Central's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points per game. As for Callaway, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.
Neshoba Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Germantown at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Germantown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Thursday. Callaway will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Starkville at 2:30 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Starkville is ranked 15th, while Callaway is ranked 22nd).
