Jade Jones was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 27 points and 15 boards. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Brielle George was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
King's Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches.
Olivia Titherington and Laylah Dawkins certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Titherington went 9-for-13 on her way to 23 points and three steals, while Dawkins went 5-for-8 en route to 17 points and five assists. Titherington's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Ball, who posted eight points.
King's Academy's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Lincoln Park Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-3.
Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Somerset Academy - Canyons knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully King's Academy likes a good challenge. Lincoln Park Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
