Meanwhile, Cristo Rey St. Martin didn't have too much trouble with Trinity Oaks Christian Academy on the road on Friday as they won 59-42. The victory was just what Cristo Rey St. Martin needed coming off of a 62-42 defeat in their prior contest.
Cristo Rey St. Martin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lebron Massey, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Massey is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayllen Godoy, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Christian Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Cristo Rey St. Martin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season.
Christian Heritage Academy beat Cristo Rey St. Martin 62-50 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Christian Heritage Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
