Basketball Recap: Zoe Valan Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Northern

On Tuesday, Patterson Mill didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Northern Patriots, but they still walked away with a 49-45 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Patterson Mill.

Patterson Mill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zoe Valan, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 17 rebounds. With that strong performance, Valan is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Sophia Marchena, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Northern lost, don't look at Sydney Prince. Despite the final result, she went 7-for-13 to rack up 19 points. What's more, Prince also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Erin Murphy was another key player, putting up two points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.

Patterson Mill pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Northern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.
