Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hawkins). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Shelbyville Dragons 84-30. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Dragons are ranked 1464th).

Hawkins' victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Shelbyville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Hawkins didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-77 win against Pineywoods Community Academy on the 12th. Shelbyville will take on Timpson in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
