The Wauneta-Palisade Broncos won the last time they faced the Arapahoe Warriors, and things went their way on Saturday too. Wauneta-Palisade managed a 58-52 victory over Arapahoe. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wauneta-Palisade.
Wauneta-Palisade's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Peyton Cox led the charge by scoring 27 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Cox's fifth in a row with at least ten points. GraCee Goings was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with 3 steals.
Sage Larson and Berkley Warner certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Larson went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists, while Warner scored 16 points along with 9 assists and 8 rebounds.
Wauneta-Palisade now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Arapahoe, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Wauneta-Palisade will be home for the holidays to greet South Platte on Friday. Hopefully South Platte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. Arapahoe will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Wilcox-Hildreth at 5:30 p.m. on December 14th.
