There's no place like home for the Waxahachie Indians, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-61 win over Mansfield Legacy on Friday. Given Waxahachie's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Broncos are ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Parker Jefferson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Rucker, who scored ten points.
Waxahachie has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. As for Mansfield Legacy, they dropped their record down to 10-18 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
