Even though the Brackenridge Eagles have not done well against the Sam Houston Hurricanes recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Brackenridge walked away with a 51-43 victory over Sam Houston. That's two games straight that Brackenridge has won by exactly eight points.
Alasia Brown was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Brackenridge's points. Sky Lopez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Brackenridge's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-14. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Sam Houston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-14.
Coincidentally, Brackenridge and Sam Houston will both be playing Edison the next time they take the court. Brackenridge will head out to face Edison at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Sam Houston will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
