The Timnath Cubs lost against the Weld Central Rebels back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Timnath fell to Weld Central 49-43.
Timnath's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyle Nelson, who scored ten points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nelson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Davis Walter, who scored five points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Weld Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Cornelius, who scored 12 points. Tyler Branch was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Timnath now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Weld Central, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Timnath's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sterling at 10:30 a.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Sterling focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Weld Central, they will be playing at home against Brush at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Brush is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
