The Stevens Point Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stevens Point is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Stevens Point duked it out with Marshfield on Thursday. The Panthers beat the Tigers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-1.
Reanna Canfield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Wausau West on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Red Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.
Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Neilitz, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Stevens Point's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Stevens Point has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. However, it's not like Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
