The Woods Cross Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 36-35 to Murray. Woods Cross was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Murray apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mari Nichols, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Grace Macarthur was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Murray can attribute much of their success to Charlotte Scherbel, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Woods Cross has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Murray, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woods Cross will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Brighton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Murray will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Davis at 12:15 p.m. on December 28th. Davis is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
