Baseball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Manitowoc Lutheran's Winning Streak

Manitowoc Lutheran dropped their record down to 3-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters. The contest marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Manitowoc Lutheran saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Haupt, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

As for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games.

On Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah's side, Makaio Lueck was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Lacota Lisowe was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Manitowoc Lutheran is taking a road trip to face off against Roncalli at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jets have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, they will welcome Sheboygan Area Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.44 runs per game on average), something the Resorters will no doubt try to take advantage of.
